The Interim Executive Director will assume the role of the lead executive and provide intuitive leadership for the Africatown Heritage Preservation Foundation. Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, maintaining financial oversight, securing grant opportunities, building community relationships, expanding and building capacity while ensuring all programs are effectively managed. The role also involves collaborating with the board of directors to develop and implement strategies for the organization’s short-term and long-term success. Key attributes: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to critically think beyond the box. This applicant must possess a minimum bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Resource Management, Organizational Management & Leadership, or related field. The ideal candidate should possess at least 20+ years proven nonprofit experience along with high level strategic planning capabilities. The ideal candidate should possess sound knowledge of African American culture, history, and community. The ideal candidate should be familiar with Gulf Coast Culture. Applicants must be able to pass a background check, credit check, along with the submission of references and CV. This is a 12 month contract located in Mobile, AL with a salary range of $65K-70K (with the possibility of an extension)
